Trigger points

A trigger point is a tight area within the muscle tissue that causes pain in other parts of the body. For example, a trigger point in the back can cause pain in the neck or head. The pain may be sharp and intense, or experienced as a dull ache. Trigger points are caused by overuse or injury of a muscle. In this massage the recipient actively participates through deep breathing as well as identifying the exact location and intensity of the discomfort.
